Fighting erupted again in Ngorno-Karabakh on Tuesday, between Azeri and Armenian forces.
A cease-fire between the two countries was agreed on Saturday but has had little impact in reducing fighting.
The conflict is presently limited to the disputed enclave of Ngorno-Karabakh, but because of the geography of the region there is the potential for it to escalate into all-out war between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Such a conflict may easily then draw in both Russia and Turkey, because of their respective backing of the two sides.
GBTV understands that representatives of the two sides are travelling to the United States for talks aimed at reaching a meaningful ceasefire.
